Dear Reader,

When I was sixteen years old, I received a diagnosis of Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder. At that time, I was prescribed antidepressants and anti-anxiety medication, which helped me to manage my mental health during my teenage years. However, upon graduating from high school, I began to experience more severe panic attacks and episodes of depression, despite taking medication.

In search of alternative ways to cope, I discovered yoga. As someone who has survived trauma, I immediately found a connection to the yogic philosophy of meditation emphasizing a true connection with the body through breathwork. Additionally, I have found a supportive community of people through practicing yoga in various contexts.

As a yoga teacher, I feel a great sense of honor and responsibility to guide others through healing from trauma. I believe in using holistic practices such as yoga, sound healing, journaling, and community-building. As the owner of Wholly Wellness, I am committed to fostering honest leadership and promoting healing within our community. My ultimate goal is to uplift the collective and nourish our spirits together.

With gratitude,

Alicia Ralls
